Winter GO AWAY!!

I cannot wait for spring/summer. Even if I complain about the heat and humidity, It's still better than the freakin cold.

I get tired, fat, unmotivated, lazy and irritable during the winter and am ready for the nice weather and just being outside.

Sigh..

Here's to spring and summer

Diapers as currency

Great news. My wife is pregnant with our second child!!

Needless to say we are very excited. Our 4-year old daughter is exceptionally excited about becoming a big sister. The baby is due in September so we are in the early stages, but this Spring will begin the transformation of spare room to nursury.

Sheri is doing fine aside from puking EVERY morning. Hopefully that will subside very soon. I am in awe of what women have to go through to carry a child. If I (or any other man for that matter) had to carry a child, I don't think we could handle it.

I mention diapers as currency in jest mainly because when we had our daughter we were struggling as my wife was taking a year off of work to raise her and I had just gotten laid of from my job. Not to mention we were strapped with huge credit card debt (which we eventually paid off). But I would always remember I had to think twice about what I was spending money on. I would remember thinking to myself "shit, 30 bucks is a box of diapers" which in turn translated to time. So, one box of diapers is 30 bucks which is one week. or 120 bucks was formula for a month. It brings back memories. Although it was tough, I am very fond of those memories.

Thankfully, we dont have to worry about it as much these days.
Will post progress.

Mancation Report

The Cabin

Well the mancation went quite well. Now most people might think that it was a boring weekend of card playing and drinking, but for me it was therapy. It’s the perfect respit from everyday life.

We spent a long weekend at my friend’s hunting cabin in the mountains west of Williamsport, PA . A very secluded area.

I left on Thursday to pick up my long-time friend Donn in Harrisburg, PA. He came from Phily and we met there. From there he hopped into my Jeep and we were off. We arrived at the cabin early and didn't have keys. The temperature was between 1 and 3 degrees, so we decided to build a fire in the pit until the others came with the keys.

We finally got in the cabin and fired up the wood burning stove. We hooked up the keg to the beermeister, and got all set up for 3 days of card playing and alcohol drinking.

Wild Turkey and Dead Man's Hand

We played cards for hours at a time. Friday my friend Joe flew in from Wisconsin and everyone was present. We played more cards, drank lots of Wild Turkey 101, and ate like kings.

On Saturday we went into “town” to the one bar in town and drank tons and played pool and had some entertainment from the locals. Donn even convinced one of the local gals that my friend dan was Hugh Grant. He actually had her going. She went on about Bridget Jones Diary. But it was a laugh.

Nice Racks! Me and Joe Toast. You can see my friend Dan in the back who looks like Hugh Grant and the woman on the left who believed it!

Back to the cabin for more cards and that's pretty much all we did. We did manage to go on 2 decent hikes. Only about 2-3 miles each but keep in mind, it was 1 degree!! We also hung out around the outdoor firepit a few times.
